Madrid, Wednesday May 4, 2011 - After a successful year of operation, the Spanish company Stampii has renewed the license with Dorna Sports for the 2011 MotoGP season in the Italian and Spanish market. This time Dorna Sports grants Stampii worldwide license with the intent to offer this amazing new digital entertainment product to all its fans. "Product quality and its mechanics convinced us in 2010. We believe it is a great opportunity to engage with our fans of all ages and globally," says Marco Delvai, of Dorna Sports.
MotoGP Stampii 2011, whose launch is planned for this May, offers a completely new experience for motor racing fans and collecting enthusiasts, which Dorna Sports expects to be highly satisfactory, based on three premises: a way to enjoy traditional collecting but with a more typical dimension of the 21st century and the digital era; the most fun way to experience this sport, and an agile and fun way to access all relevant information of each championship easily accessible and updated. Thus, the collection covers all drivers, teams and bikes of the three categories (MotoGP, Moto2 and 125cc), providing extensive information regarding the Grand Prix of the season.
The innovative technology implemented allows users to purchase, download and collect Stampii, an ultramodern version of the traditional trading card. The stickers are not just a photo and four data as used to be; they are containers of audiovisual and statistical information that can also be upgraded and expanded during the course of collection. The collection offers audiovisual content carefully selected and edited that is updated with new pictures and videos after each Grand Prix. Each Stampii card also offers extensive data on all drivers, as their profile and track record, and all the details of the 2011 season to live intensely every Grand Prix. To preserve the essence of collecting, limited editions of each collection are printed digitally. These are linked to a database that allows the user for ownership authentication of every single stamp he or she has acquired through purchase or trading.
Digital collecting
The innovative technology implemented by Stampii allows users to purchase, download and collect a 21st century version of the traditional trading card, through an application compatible with their operating system, which can be downloaded off www.stampii.com. This platform has been developed for the enjoyment of digital collecting from the various existing devices: computers (PC and Mac), which are more convenient to enjoy all the video content on Stampii, mobile (Apple iPhone, Android), in which immediacy and portability are paramount, and PC tablets, on which user may combine the quality of computer experience with the mobility of mobile devices.
Stampii can be exchanged face-to-face using the mobile phone (similar to the usual stack of trading cards) or remotely from another collector anywhere in the world, through social networks. "The potential of this experience is best when you think that, this way, an amateur making a collection in Salamanca may be negotiating a swap with his group of friends in San Francisco, Hong Kong and Amsterdam. For those who have always made collections, this is unimaginable," said Alfonso Marian, CEO of Stampii.
The new Stampii picture cards are not just a photo and some data as traditional, but they are containers of audiovisual information and statistics that can be updated and expanded during the course of collection. In addition, each Stampii is unique and belongs to a limited range, as the property of the user is an especially careful section. For this, Stampii has been developed in customer applications that are downloaded and installed, and the acquired and synchronized Stampii are also downloaded on the user-activated devices. Once downloaded, the local application decrypts the content so they can be enjoyed at anytime with or without Internet connection. Also, a database certifies the Stampii acquired and exchanges between users, so there is always a record of the rightful owner of each of the Stampii of each of the limited series of each collection. As for transactions, they are always carried out by micro-payment systems, with premium SMS from mobile phones, using prepaid accounts or through credit cards. "Digital Collecting is a new category of virtual goods that will populate social networks and popularize micro payment systems," explains about Javier Mora, Technical Director of Stampii.
